Robot based systems: the G-RobTM family
This line of products is based on 6-axis robot arms. We offer complete solutions aimed at the analysis of samples in X-ray, neutron and other beam types, using a large variety of techniques. These systems integrate:
• The robot arm, the controller, the robot software library.
• The robot mechanical interface, the robot tools and tool magazine.
• The X-ray source and detector, when required.
• The sample environment (beam-stop, microscope for centering, etc.)
• The API, power crates, computers.
• The safety chain, safety cell, shielding.
• The supporting frame, the interface to the fluids.
• The high level software, the Graphic User Interface (GUI).
Our G-RobTM systems' capacity range is from robot handling of fragile components to accurate robot-based positioning of samples for analysis. Our experience extends from transfer of cryogenically cooled biological samples to X-ray crystallography measurements.
Our exclusive G-RobTM systems feature:
• Custom made solutions: Integrated solutions, ready to use, or upgrades for existing systems
• Extended possibilities: a large choice of functionalities, with possibility of evolution
• High flexibility: possibility to accommodate difficult environments.
• Openness: possibility for our customer to develop their own solutions.
• High performances: leader in geometrical accuracy and precision.
A G-RobTM system consists in a robot base plus its functionalities, which include all the required tools, software and accessories. G-RobTM is fully modular, and therefore can evolve very easily.
Below are presented the main functionalities of the G-RobTM system, sorted according to the range of robot performances needed to operate these capabilities:
• “1D” functionalities family: the robot arm is used as a single-axis goniometer for“small” samples (samples that can be centered on the last physical axis such as sample rotation during analysis involves only this axis). Sample transfer capability can also be involved.
• “2D” functionalities family: the robot arms is used as a multi-axis goniometer for“large” samples (at the opposite of “small” samples as described above) or multiple samples on the same holder.
• “SC” functionalities family: this is a highly flexible and automated system to transfer samples from a storage to a sample handling apparatus, such as a goniometer or a micro-plate reader. This functionality can operate at any temperature, from cryo to room temperatures.
• “PH” functionalities family: this line of systems provides very efficient way to position and hold equipments, such as detectors and monitors, in the experimental environment during sample analysis.
These functionalities can all be mixed in a single system if needed, and combined with a variety of analysis techniques, involving X-rays, neutrons, etc. G-RobTM can change tool automatically to switch from one functionality to the next. New functionalities can also be developed to fit your needs. Ask us for more details.
